Renuga Inpakumar is a young Eelam Tamil activist that started her active activist journey at the age of 10. Her activism started with speaking at various public speaking competitions drawing awareness of refugee rights by expressing the need to end indefinite detention and providing permanent protection to all refugees.
In her final year of high school, 2020, she was able to attend the 43rd session of human rights in the United Nations, Geneva Switzerland where it brought attention to the Council of two indefinitely detained Eelam Tamils who had been held for 9 years at the time. Since her graduation, she is in her second year of Bachelor of Law/Arts at Western Sydney University. During her time she has been able to organise various rallies on the plight of Eelam Tamil issues such as Tamil Genocide Day, Do not Deport to Danger, Palm Sunday Tamil Contingent, Tamil Oppression Day, Boycott Sri Lankan Cricket and various online events.
She speaks at rallies on the issues for her Eelam Tamil brothers and sisters to be provided with their land back, Tamil Eelam and Tamil Eelam genocide to be recognised and those who were complicit should be held responsible. She believes the power is in the people that will create the real change that is deserved by all oppressed groups in society such as First Nations and Palestinian people.
